WIC (Women, Infants & Children) is a non-profit supplemental food and nutrition program assisting income eligible families. WIC provides supplemental food packages, breastfeeding support, free nutrition information and guidance and referrals to other community programs to; women who are pregnant, breastfeeding and up to six months postpartum. Infants and children up to the age of five, including foster children. Fathers may also apply for their children. You can call 594-4329 or 800-260-6609 to see if your family qualifies for WIC. The Midcoast Maine Community Action WIC program has offices and outreach sites in Rockland, Union, Waldoboro, Damariscotta, Boothbay, Bath, Topsham, Richmond, Belfast, Liberty, Brooks, Frankfort and Unity. The Rockland office is located at: 7 Union St., Rockland, ME 04841. The office hours are Monday’s: 7:30am-7:00pm, Tuesday-Thursday: 7:30am-4:00pm. We are closed for lunch 12-12:30.
