Two City Center, Portland (August 2023): Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty announced that two of its agents, Brian Wickenden and Laura Pellerano, were recently named Realtor of the Year by their regional REALTOR® councils.

“It has been a very strong year of recognition for our amazing team of agents,” says Chris Lynch, Founder and President of Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty. “Laura Pellerano from our Northeast Harbor office was recognized by her peers as the Acadia Council Realtor of the Year, and Brian Wickenden from our Camden office was also recognized as the Pen Bay Council Realtor of the Year. Mary Jo Cross from the Portland office was also recently awarded the coveted Spirit Award by the Greater Portland Board of Realtors.”

“I was delighted to be chosen as the Pen Bay Council 2023 Realtor of the Year,” says Brian Wickenden. “It is very meaningful to be recognized by my peers for this honor. It was particularly special to me that I could share the experience with my family, and with all of my colleagues from Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty who were there to celebrate with me.”

The Sail Power and Steam Museum in Rockland hosted the 2023 Pen Bay Council REALTOR® of the Year ceremony. Brian’s wife and two daughters made a surprise entry as the announcement was made. Chris Lynch gave great testimony to Brian and his accomplishments over the years, and Madeleine Hill, Past MAR President, Cathy Libby, and Denise Libby from Maine Listings were also there to celebrate and recognize Pen Bay’s REALTOR® of the Year.

Brian Wickenden recently closed on the highest sale in Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty’s 18-year history, representing the sellers this past May. The one-of-a-kind oceanfront estate on 32 acres in Saint George, known as “Seasmoke Farm,” sold for $9,750,000. The property is also the highest-priced sale in Maine this year, the highest-priced property ever sold in Saint George, and the sixth-highest residential sale in state history.

Laura Pellerano, an agent in our Northeast Harbor office, was honored at the Acadia Council REALTOR® of the Year event at the historic Kebo Valley Golf Club in Bar Harbor. Laura has been on the Mid-Board of REALTORS since 2016, and she will be finishing up her term this year, serving as Treasurer. She is heavily involved in local organizations such as the Rotary Club of Ellsworth and the Chamber of Commerce, and Laura also sits on the Maine Association of Realtors Legislative Committee, Finance & Budgeting, Professional Standards, and the MREIS’ Policy Committee.

“What a joy to see Laura chosen as our council’s REALTOR® of the Year,” says Abigail Curless, an agent in the Northeast Harbor office. “Laura is so deserving of this honor. It was inspiring to hear the long list of her accomplishments and the numerous ways she has given back to her community and our association over the past few decades. Our Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty table was full at the yearly luncheon event, and it was an honor and joy to sit among everyone.”

Laura Pellerano is a consistent market-leading agent currently representing several iconic properties in the Midcoast and Downeast regions, including Rooster Brother in Ellsworth and an incredible lobster pound with 11 acres and more than 1,300 feet of Atlantic Ocean frontage on Deer Isle.
